so 1 week out and all the checklists have surfaced, 1 of them is check all the blogging tools and photo sharing apps, it appears blogger app doesn't work/exist on devices anymore.
so a new blog has been found and set up may be better than this set up!

hippo is getting ready for holiday time again!

1 week in hawaii, waikiki
1 week in las vegas, on the strip

where do we start?!
how do we pack?!

final day

our final day in melbourne before home bound

we had a late night snack at 2am a little korean place next door open until 4am. 

it was 2 litres of soup! couldnt even get through half! my goodness! 

was up and packing but of course 1 last wander for some food before we head off. found the royal arcade with some fun things

amazing tea room filled with beautiful cakes. thats the one! 

hippo smelling the flowers. 

some chai to wake up from late night snack run 

giant souffle of cheesey goodness. 

followed by a giant swiss roll! 

so now we slowly waddle back to get our bags and go to the airport to head home. 

goodbye melbourne it has been an amazing experience and it was soooooo good catching up with candy. we already miss her so much.

day 3

Lest we forget. 

it was up and off in search for breakfast! 

brushetta trio! salmon with avo, mushroom with goat cheese, olive and  bococcini

then off we went to the museum. on the way we passed the anzac parade so we paid our respect to the many soliders whom put their life in danger for our country

hippo saluted them 

and waved with excitement 

hippo had a little snooze on the little hill in the sun, soaking it up!

hippo started to over heat a little when we spotted an ice cream truck! 

hippo waiting in line to get into the art gallery. the line went around the building! 

first thing hippo does is challenge the croc.. must be an instinct thing from the wild. of course croc wins! had to pull his ass out of the crocs mouth. 

in the gallery hippo spots a beautiful mirror. "mirror mirror in the wall who is the most ferocious hippo of them all" 

no response. silly hippo. 

hippo saw funny sculptures doing the macarena and joined in the dance. oh macarena hey! 

then found a funny hat display. hippo with funky a hat that must be the chief of hippo tribe. after a long walk around the gallery it was time for a rest to put the feet up and a little nap. 

the wait is finally here our reservation at modiva. we first went to the wrong modiva but made it to the correct one in a little alley way. first up are sangrias!! 

amazing tomato sorbet, anchovy entree the salty and sweet and cold melt in your mouth is AMAZING! 

chilled mackerel with pineuts and sorbet. its just such a strange feeling in your mouth. 

followed by octopus with pickled cucumber and oregano sauce. waygu beef tartare with quail egg. to die for! the freshness is amazing! 

bowl of portobello mushroom with sherry vinegar. the creaminess of the mushroom flavour

dessert. green apple sorbet with rhubarb and white chocolate topped with toasted meringue. love the toasted taste of meringue with the sour sorbet and rhubarb cuts through the richness and sweetnes of the white chocolate. 

we highly recommend booking at modiva to taste these amazing tapas in melbourne 

a stroll home through the alleyways 

hippo with itchy butt went to sit on the cactus for a scratch! you silly thing you! 

came across some break dancers. hippo got down on the dance floor said i can do it too bboy hippo with head spin. 

our last night in melbourne had to find somewhere to have our last drink. jaffa expresso martini! 

now its back to have a facial and enjoy the night

day 2

early riser, took a soothing bath. nice and relaxing!

then it was off to explore the city. took a little while to figure out the tram system... trams dont turn....

hippo super excited! LETS GOOOOO

arrived at queen victoria market. hippo trying to figure out where to go first! i think its breakfast time! 

oh hippo did you not have enough to drink last time you needed more?!? its ok just water... 

spanish expresso with condense milk! it is so intense but taste so good! 

chorizo crockpot egg oh so yummy! smoky chorizo and sweet tomatoes

hippo had to sticky beak at the omelette

then chilling out with polar bears

came across a strange skull store... hello! *echo* hello hello hello hellooooo

i guess no one home inside...

after checking out seafood had to get some! yummy creamy sweet oysters! 

walked passed a chocolate shop... soo many different chocolate covered items. 

cheeses!! so many cheeses! 

pickled and stuffed everything! making hippo hungry again 

came home and had a little snooze for the early riser and it was out again to bourke street mall to shop

hippo found a hippo friend 

then hippo saw darth vader and joined the dark side. 

had a little entree of chicken skewers of bits and pieces in chilli oil

off to the dumpling house. doesnt matter where we go its always dumpling!

then it was home time for dessert! 

goooey lemon tart frlm queen victoria market this afternoon. oh so lemony! 

now its facial time and just relax.

day 1

there was a slight delay to boarding but we still made it to melbourne on time. even though its only a short flight we still get a little snack, hippo's favourite!! cheese and crackers and brownies!! 

finally arrived in sunny melbourne away from the rainy cold wet sydney. using the readily available melbourne public transport and arrived in our little home for the next few days! :) 

mantra on little bourke, cosy little place with a little kitchenette. 

was feeling hungry so its food hunting time, so many choices!!

found a little ramen place with seafood ramen. rating: average didnt think it was amazing but lots of people! 

after the food tummy stuffed so a stroll through china town and found...chatime! yes i flew all the wat to melbourne for this. 

search of night life + matcha latte 

then we stumble upon a little gem, a little bookshop randomly at a corner. hippo found a very interesting read. a lazy little wombat! 

hippo very envious of this little wombat. 

walked pass the museum, up the magnificent stairs and get to the front door. hippo knock knock but no answer

we then returned to our home after a long long long walk around the neighbourhood. rested our feets and decided we MUST find a bar to enjoy a drink! 

stumbled into such an amazing little whisky and craft beer house, established 2015. 

wall to wall, floor to ceiling filled with bottles of whiskey!! amazing atmosphere and music! i guess thats what melbourne is about! 

after a little drink it was time to head back and put the feet up and facial time!
